After interviewing students at Watkins College of Art & Design, we discovered a substantial number of them already had college degrees in other fields before enrolling. We learned that the students who entered Watkins to earn a second degree did so because they realized they had chosen a path they were not suited for or did not enjoy. This was driven primarily by bad advice from counselors and parents who did not view a degree in art or design as a path to a viable career. This ad campaign illustrates the emotional price of not following your heart and suggests that we understand and validate the desire work in a creative field.
The posters hung in high schools were often stolen off the walls by art students.
